The CLAT exam is a gateway to the top NLUs, which are among the top law colleges. Hence, the CLAT is the most popular and preferred law entrance exam in India among all candidates. The Consortium of NLUs conducted CLAT 2026 on December 7, 2025 in offline mode at different exam centres across India. 17,335 candidates registered for CLAT PG 2026 out of which 16,026 appeared for the exam. There has been a continuous increase in the number of students appearing for the CLAT PG exam over the past few years.
Additionally, with the ongoing interest among students in the legal profession, there was an increase in the number of aspirants this year. Through the Common Law Admission Test PG, candidates will be admitted into the LLM programmes of participating NLUs and affiliated colleges.

To estimate a good score in CLAT PG 2026, candidates must refer to the previous year's CLAT LLM cut-off data, along with seat intake and reservation. Considering the previous year’s trend, a good score in CLAT PG 2026 is likely to be around 70+ marks for admission into top NLUs.
The success rate in CLAT PG 2026 will be low due to the wide gap between the number of CLAT PG seats available and the total number of candidates appearing for CLAT PG.

For CLAT PG 2026, if you aim for top NLUs like NALSAR, NLSIU and WBNUJS, a score of around 75+ marks (rank within 100 ) is generally good for the general category
Cut-offs change every year, so try to score as high as possible for a better chance.

It is good to see institutions like NMIMS have selected you for master of law based on your CLAT PG scores. If we compare the three then to be very clear:
For the best academic value and recognition choose NMIMS, or the Nirma University is also good. The DNLU is newer and can be considered as well but if we choose any one, then it is NMIMS.
