Candidates who have 70% marks in 12th grade (60% for SC/ ST students) are eligible for admission to the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) programmes at VIT Chennai. Graduated candidates who have 55% marks (45% for SC/ ST) in UG law courses are eligible for VIT Chennai LL.M. admission.

VIT Chennai Eligibility Criteria 2026
B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)/ B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Eligibility Criteria: 12th with 70% marks (60% for SC/ ST students).
LL.M. Eligibility Criteria: UG law courses with 55% marks (60% for SC/ ST students)
Note: Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura have 10% relaxation in eligibility requirements for VIT Chennai admission.

VIT Chennai Selection Process 2026 for B.B.A. LL.B./ B.A. LL.B.
Admission is done through merit and is based on the mentioned qualifying examination.
The applicants will be called for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (Hybrid Mode).
A rank list will be prepared based on +2/HSC marks, CLAT / VITLEE Scores and Group discussion and Personal Interview (for UG)
