The Consortium of National Law Universities has published the first CLAT PG merit list on June 17, 2025 on its official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates shortlisted in the CLAT PG merit list are required to pay the confirmation fee and university fees to obtain seat allotment by June 20, 1 PM. They will be able to obtain admission into LLM programmes of the participating NLUs. The CLAT PG cut-off for the first round of counselling will also be available in the merit list. Candidates will find a place in the CLAT PG merit list of only those universities that were part of their NLU preferences. In the revised CLAT PG counselling schedule published by the consortium, there will be three rounds of counselling instead of the usual five. The Consortium of NLUs had earlier conducted the CLAT PG exam on December 1, 2024, and the revised CLAT PG result was declared on June 10, 2025.

What After Publication of CLAT PG First Merit List?

The CLAT PG allotment list is only provisional. After the first merit list of CLAT PG 2025 is published, the shortlisted candidates are required to confirm their seats through their login and also pay the confirmation fee of Rs 20000. They are are also required to pay the university fees within the prescribed deadline.

Those candidates who do not wish to continue in the counselling process can also choose the exit option through their login and exit the counselling process. The counselling registration fee will be refunded to such candidates.

For CLAT PG 2026, if you aim for top NLUs like NALSAR, NLSIU and WBNUJS, a score of around 75+ marks (rank within 100 ) is generally good for the general category

Cut-offs change every year, so try to score as high as possible for a better chance.

It is good to see institutions like NMIMS have selected you for master of law based on your CLAT PG scores. If we compare the three then to be very clear:

  • NMIMS Mumbai has strong reputation for it's Kirti Mehra School of Law and has got good academic value.
  • Nirma University is also another good after NMIMS, and has strong reputation for law studies in Gujarat.
  • The DNLU is comparatively newer than the other two and it will take some time to be equivalent to them.

For the best academic value and recognition choose NMIMS, or the Nirma University is also good. The DNLU is newer and can be considered as well but if we choose any one, then it is NMIMS.
