Candidates who have completed their 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB from the University of Mumbai or other recognised universities are eligible to apply for the LLM entrance examination.
Candidates belonging to the general category should have secured at least 50% marks in their qualifying examination.
Candidates belonging to the reserved category should obtain a pass certificate in the qualifying examination.
Candidates who are in the final semester of a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree course are also eligible to apply.
Mumbai University opened the Mumbai University LLM CET 2026 application form online on April 30, 2026. Candidates planning to appear in the LLM entrance exam can fill out the application form online. The last date for submission of forms is May 15, 2026, by 11:00 AM. Candidates are required to select their category and quota carefully, as no changes will be allowed at any stage during the admission process. The university also opens an application correction window. Candidates can make changes in the application form by visiting the official website: mu.ac.in.
For general category candidates, the application fee is Rs. 1,000/- + Convenience charges + GST as applicable (Online Payment) (Non-refundable).
For reserved category candidates (SC, ST, DT-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, OBC, SBC, EWS, SEBC), the fee is Rs. 650/- + Convenience charges + GST as applicable (Online Payment) (Non-refundable)

Mumbai University issues the Mumbai University LLM entrance exam admit card 2026 a few days before the exam. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website through their login. The admit card of MU LLM CET 2026 is a mandatory document without which candidates will not be able to appear for the exam. Divyang candidates must submit a photocopy of their hall ticket along with their application and disability certificate to the Head of the Department at least one week prior to the exam to claim extra time.

The university will release the merit list of the Mumbai University LLM 2026 in multiple rounds. Candidates will be able to download the merit list by visiting the official website. The merit list will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, category, marks obtained in the LLM CET exam, etc. After the release of the Mumbai University LLM merit list, the admission process shall not be centralised.
