Jindal Global Law School Announces Early Admissions for 2027 through LNAT-UK Entrance Exam

Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of OP Jindal Global University (JGU), India's highest-ranked global law school, has announced the commencement of early admissions for the academic year 2027-28. The National Admission Test for Law (LNAT-UK) remains the only mandatory entrance test for admission to both 5-year and 3-year LLB (Hons.) programmes. The LNAT Test is owned by the LNAT Consortium, headquartered at the University of Oxford.

LNAT is one of the world's leading law entrance exams, with member law schools comprising Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King's College London, Durham, and Glasgow, among others. JGLS is the only Indian law school that is a member of the LNAT Consortium, admitting 100% of its class based solely on LNAT scores.

Only Two Phases of JGLS Admissions in 2027

    • Early Admission | Take LNAT test from 1st September to 30th November 2026. A minimum of 50% of seats are to be admitted.

    • Late Admission | Take LNAT test from December 1 to February 28, 2027. Remaining Seats to be Admitted.

JGLS LNAT Cutoff Expected to be 20-25 Marks on 42.

Professor Anand Prakash Mishra, Senior Director of Law Admissions, who is also Executive Dean of Institutional Outreach of the University stated that: “Early Admission is the key. The sooner we understand this phenomenon already adopted by the world's leading universities, it's better for our students and academic institutions. At JGLS, we admitted 90% of the class of 2026 by 28 February. This year we will admit a full class with the same deadline. Students must start preparing for the LNAT when they enter class 12 and take the Test, preferably in the First Admission Cycle, during September 1 to November 30, 2026. That's the best strategy. You have better chances of securing admission as well, as you receive an option to do a Retest or Second Attempt in the next phase of admissions in case you don't qualify in the first phase. Studying law at JGLS is indeed a transformational opportunity for the lifetime, and no law aspirant should miss it only because of a delay in taking the LNAT entrance test.”

LNAT–UK: The Mandatory Admissions Test for JGLS

The LNAT-UK is a globally benchmarked, standardised admissions test. This Computer Based Test (CBT) is available at 500+ Test Centers around the world during September to July. Students can schedule the Test on any date at any center following the University's admission deadline.

The LNAT Test evaluates critical thinking and advanced English language and reading comprehension skills. The LNAT comprises two sections: Section A, consisting of 42 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on complex texts that assess comprehension, inference, and reasoning (with no negative marking), and Section B, an essay part.

JGLS considers only the LNAT scores of applicants based on their performance in Section A and doesn’t require them to write an essay, i.e., Section B. Students aiming for JGLS may end their test after completing the MCQs.

    JGLS Merit-cum-Means-Based Scholarships

LNAT-UK scores will be considered for merit-cum-means-based scholarships. Scholarships are awarded in the range of 10%, 25% and 50% of tuition fees, as per merit and annual parental income criteria. A separate notification is issued regarding scholarships. Students securing 25+ marks out of 42 in the LNAT test are eligible to receive scholarships if their annual parental income as per parental ITR is less than INR 50 lakhs.

    JGLS Two-Step Application Process

Applicants must complete both steps to be considered for admission:

    1. Register for the LNAT–UK Test (first week of August onwards).

    2. Submit the JGLS Online Application Form.

Admission is offered exclusively to candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the JGLS Admissions Committee. Based on the year 2026 admissions, an LNAT score above 25 out of 42 is good for admission and scholarship at Jindal Global Law School.
