Geeta Institute of Law also known as GIL Panipat was established in 2007. GIL Panipat has been approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and is affiliated with Kurukshetra University. Geeta Institute of Law offers full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in law stream.GIL Panipat courses are BA LLB Hons, BBA LLB Hons, LLB and LLM. GIL Panipat admissions are based on the last qualifying merit of the applicants as well as GLAT based for BBA and BA LLB courses.

In the interview with Careers360, Chahat talks about the Geeta Institute of Law campus, the course curriculum, facilities offered such as hostels, medical and many more. Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?

Chahat Sharma: My name is Chahat Sharma and I am from Panipat, HaryanChahat Sharma:

Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?

Chahat Sharma: I am enrolled in BBA LLB (Hons.) and currently I am in III year (IV semester)

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

Chahat Sharma: Personally talking, No. We had a 3 day Orientation program, which helped me to connect with my batch mates, other than that the faculty was very supportive so I didn’t face any such difficulty.

Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc. for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Chahat Sharma: Throughout the year the campus rides on a roller coaster of different events and competitions. From loud welcome parties for the freshers to the biggest event of the year – The National Moot Court Competition, where the Sports Meet revives the energy and Mock Trials challenging the advocacy skills, yes there are various societies, committees and cells at Geeta Institute of Law. Some of them are: - Moot court society, Internship and Placement Cell, Pro Bono Club, Library Committee, Cultural society and others. Talking about myself, I am in the core committee of the Placement and Internship cell.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Chahat Sharma: Our classes start at 9:30. A typical day at campus is never the same. Every new day brings new opportunities and challenges. From attending classes to participating in several events, sometimes CREs are scheduled, other days we have some seminars or guest lectures.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding?

Chahat Sharma: the faculty-student ratio is good, with a fair balance between student and professors. The professors are approachable, supportive and invested towards academic growth.

Careers360: What facilities do you have in the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?

Chahat Sharma: Geeta institute of law provides a wide range of facilities to us that makes learning and campus life so much easier. It includes Moot court room, Library, Computer lab, Auditorium, Conference room, Sports ground, Hostel, transportation etc.

Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

Chahat Sharma: I am a day scholar so maybe I cannot answer this question effectively.

Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?

Chahat Sharma: The medical facilities are pretty good. All basic first aid facilities are provided for initial treatment; nearby hospitals are referred if needed.

Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

Chahat Sharma: Sometimes It is quite challenging to balance all things together but with the mentorship

of our professors and effective priority management I try to balance everything. Geeta Institute of law has taught me the way to turn challenges into opportunities, so despite the fact it is hectic, I always enjoy the process.

Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?

Chahat Sharma: There are various societies, committees and cells at Geeta Institute of Law. Some of them are: - Moot court society, Internship and Placement Cell, Pro Bono Club, Library Committee, Cultural society and others. Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?

Chahat Sharma: Yes

Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

Chahat Sharma: Geeta institute of law being situated on National highway, Delhi NCR is near to the National capital, making it easier for the students to visit various places such as Supreme court of India, The Indian Parliament, The Rashtrapati bhavan. also frequent industrial visits are organized for students. Tours and Trips are also organized for students very often.

Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?

Chahat Sharma: I generally spend my leisure time doing research about trends in laws. This hobby at law school is engaging, interesting and adds to knowledge. Also hanging out in lush green campus with friends is always my favorite way to spend my free time.

Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?

Chahat Sharma: YES, GIL has its official profile at various online platforms where all updates and activities are posted.

Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?

Chahat Sharma: The internship and placement cell actively works to connect students with top tier law firms. The internship fair has been organized for the last 6 years at GIL. Guest lectures of different prominent figures are organized regularly to guide and motivate students.
