    The Bar Council of India (BCI) will issue the final guidelines for the All India Bar Examination XXI (AIBE 21). An important item in the AIBE 21 checklist is the AIBE 21 admit card, which will be issued on May 22, 2026 on the official website - allindiabarexamination.com. Only candidates with their admit card and a valid photo ID can enter the examination centre. The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a closed-book exam. Candidates are not allowed to bring books, study materials, or notes into the exam hall. Only Bare Acts, which are the original versions of laws without any added notes or comments, are permitted inside the examination centre.

    The AIBE 21 examination is scheduled to be conducted offline on June 7, 2026 in around 55 cities. The AIBE 2026 is open to all law graduates who have completed either a 3-year LLB or a 5-year LLB. Even the final-year law students are eligible to register and appear for the AIBE 21 exam.     Bare Acts in AIBE exam 2026

    The Bar Council announced in 2021 that AIBE will no longer be an open-book exam. They informed the candidates that they could not carry books or study materials inside the examination hall. However, Bare Acts, which are the exact text of a particular enactment, are allowed in the AIBE exam. Candidates can carry Bare Acts without comments to their examination hall. Since Bare Acts are only available to some, the council has also allowed the candidates to carry Bare Acts with short notes (few comments). A notification regarding the Bare Acts is also available on the official website.

    AIBE 2026 Exam Instructions: Items to avoid

    Candidates should avoid the following items on exam day.

    • Books on AIBE exam preparation
    • Guides and Bare Acts with detailed comments
    • Any kind of notes - Self-made or readymade
    • Mobile phones
    • Calculator
    • Smartwatch
    • Any other electronic devices

    AIBE Exam Instructions 2026

    • Candidates must carry an admit card along with one Photo ID proof to their respective examination centre. Those without an admit card will not be allowed to enter the examination centre.
    • Candidates are allowed to carry only BARE ACTS (without notes and comments) inside the examination centre.
    • Electronic or communication devices such as mobile phones, laptops, smart watches, etc, books or notes (except BARE ACTS without notes and comments) are strictly prohibited.
    • Candidates must not leave the examination hall before the conclusion of the examination without handing over the answer sheet.
    • Use only Blue/Black Ball Point pen.
    • Using a pencil in the OMR sheet will lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
    • The candidate should enter the roll number on the answer sheet as it is mentioned on the admit card and fill in the respective ovals. Any mismatch would lead to disqualification.
    • The candidate should fill in the question booklet, Set code and roll number and all other necessary information correctly on the answer sheet.
    • Candidates with more than 50% disability will be given 20 minutes of extra time per hour. Such candidates have to submit a certified copy of their disability certificate to the invigilator to avail the extra time.

    AIBE XXI (21) 2026 Reporting Time

    AIBE 21 (XXI) is being conducted on a single day. Candidates must report at the time mentioned on their admit card. The timing for the AIBE XXI exam is yet to be announced. The entry to the exam centre will start at least 1.5 hours prior to the exam time. Candidates can check the exact exam timings of AIBE XXI (21) 2026 on their admit card. They are advised to report to the test centre early to avoid the last-minute rush and appear in the examination comfortably.

However, those who want to refer to the Bare Acts are advised not to spend a lot of time on Bare Acts. They should use only those Bare Acts that they used earlier during the preparation.
    • Mark your answers properly: Being an offline-based exam, candidates will be required to mark their answers in the OMR sheet. Candidates are advised to mark the answers fully and correctly using a black or blue ballpoint pen.
