    ICFAI Law School Hosts International Conference on “Correctional Reforms: Novel Vistas” from April 1-3, 2026

    ICFAI Law School organised the 3-day International Conference on “Correctional Reforms: Novel Vistas” at ICFAI Law School Campus Hyderabad, marking the commencement of an engaging academic dialogue on transformative approaches within correctional jurisprudence. The event brought together eminent academicians, practitioners, and officials from prison administration to deliberate on contemporary challenges and reformative strategies. Dr. Soumya Mishra, IPS, Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services, Telangana delivered the inaugural address as a Chief Guest.

    Delivering the keynote address, the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Dr. Soumya Mishra, IPS, Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services, Telangana, reflected on the shift from a punitive to a reformative approach in prison administration. She emphasized that both Police and Prison systems share the common objective of protecting society while enabling the transformation of offenders. Highlighting Telangana’s prison reforms as a model, she spoke about initiatives focused on skill development and rehabilitation of inmates. Drawing comparisons with international practices such as technology-enabled monitoring in countries like Australia, she noted the legal limitations in India while advocating progressive reform. She called for greater collaboration between academia, legislature, society, and prison authorities to drive meaningful transformation.

    Prof. Tamma Koti Reddy, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, in his speech highlighted critical challenges within the prison system, including overcrowding, the high number of undertrial prisoners, and the need for stronger statutory regulation. He underscored the role of the judiciary in ensuring prison welfare and advocated for the integration of technology, policy reform, and a humane approach to uphold the dignity of individuals within correctional systems. He urged that the conference serve as a meaningful platform for discussion and change. Prof. Y. Pratap Reddy, Dean, ICFAI Law School, in his welcome address emphasized the importance of Criminal Law discourse and the need for reform-oriented perspectives.

Rekhraj Jain introduced the theme of the conference and outlined its structure, highlighting the four technical sessions designed to explore key dimensions of correctional jurisprudence, including the continuing debate of “Jail vs Bail.” ICFAI Law School faculty, students participated in the conference.

    The ICFAI Foundation of Higher Education offers only five years of integrated BBA-LLB Honors. It doesn't offer three year LLB course to the students. The five-year program consists of 10 semesters. So, if you are interested in an integrated law program then you can join this university.

    There are so many private colleges that you can join by going through their admission criteria,some of the colleges including Christ University, symbiosis,Amity University Jindal global law school etc. You might have to go through a separate admission test in these colleges but if you cannot make it
