Hello,
Your CLAT 2025 rank of 21,177 places you beyond the typical cutoff range for OBC-A (West Bengal domicile) candidates seeking admission to WBNUJS Kolkata .
In Round 1 of CLAT 2025 counselling , the closing rank for OBC-A (WB domicile) was 10,297 for BA LLB and 13,417 for BSc LLB.
Given that only three counselling rounds are being conducted this year, compared to five in previous years, the chances of significant rank movement are limited. Also, the closing ranks for OBC-A (WB domicile) have not extended to your current rank in previous years .
So, I will suggest you to participate in all rounds of counselling, may be you can get admission if there is any seat left, also explore alternative options like state law colleges in West Bengal with OBC-A reservation.
Hope it helps !
Hello
Yes, attending an NLU like WBNUJS is possible for a student from a lower-middle-class family.
Many NLUs, including WBNUJS, offer financial aid, scholarships, and fee waivers based on merit or need. Additionally, government scholarships, private grants, and student loans are available to help cover fees.
It's important to research and apply for these opportunities. Speak to the university's financial aid office or senior students for guidance.
Don’t let fees discourage you—many students from similar backgrounds have successfully pursued their dreams with the right support and planning.
Hope it helps !
HI RAMIZA,
CONGRATULATIONS ON SUCCESS IN THE EXAMINATION.
CLAT CUT OFF changes every year. For NLU Kolkata BA LLB and LLM programs it will depend on several factors like -
Number of candidates for CLAT 2023
Number of candidates preferring NLU Kolkata during counselling
Number of places offered by the university in BA LLB and LLM programmes
University Reservation Policy
Category of candidates
FOR 2022 THE CUT OFFS WERE :
GENERAL- 579
GENERAL state domiciled- 1423
SC- 3172
ST - 3113
since general state domiciled is way beyond your state OBC rank so there is high probability of getting into this college under OBC seat.
For more information on the college you can look into following link:
thank you!!
Dear aspirant,
It is difficult to predict this information as cut-offs depend on many factors like difficulty of the examination paper, number of students appearing, change in total seats offered etc. These factors change every year and therefore one can not predict the cut-offs with accuracy.
However you can check for past year cut-off with you All India Rank. According to our sources, last year the all India rank for scheduled caste with west bengal domicile was 7976 . If your rank is around this range, you can perhaps get WBNUJS in CLAT counselling.
All the best!
