As mentioned in the overview, the LNAT 2026 syllabus for JGLS admissions consists of two sections - objective and descriptive. Candidates get a total of 2 hours 15 minutes to attempt both the sections.
The first section is an objective section consisting of 12 argumentative passages.
Each of the passages is followed by 3-4 multiple choice questions based on the passage. Candidates have to comprehend and interpret information from the passage to answer the questions. There are 42 multiple choice questions to be attempted in 95 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in LNAT.
The descriptive section in LNAT requires the candidates to write an essay on a given topic with a maximum of 750 words. Candidates have to write an argumentative essay and come to a conclusion. There are three options and candidates have to choose any one subject for the essay. The time duration for this section is 40 minutes.

Read the sentences in the passage carefully and note down any keywords and or important phrases.
Employ eliminating strategy to arrive at the right answer in the objective section.The options in MCQ questions are designed to be tricky so that each one appears to be almost right.
Stay updated with the latest socio-economic issues by regularly reading newspapers and law magazines to be able to attempt the essay section well.
