Panjab University has released the PU BA LLB merit list on July 1, 2026, on its official website. A separate merit list for BCom LLB has also been released. Earlier, the university announced the admission and counselling schedule for PU BA LLB 2026 on its official website. The university will commence the PU BA LLB 2026 counselling from July 13, 2026. The PU BA LLB 2026 admission form was released on May 20, 2026, and the last date to submit the online admission form was June 14, 2026.

Candidates seeking admission to B.A./B.Com. LL.B (Hons.) programmes at University Institute of Legal Studies Chandigarh, University Institute of Legal Studies and University Institute of Laws must complete the admission process within the prescribed deadlines. Candidates whose names appear in the provisional merit list 2026 need to appear in the PU BA LLB 2026 counselling to confirm their seats. Only those candidates who score above the minimum passing marks in the PU BA LLB entrance exam are eligible to participate in the counselling process.
The PU BA LLB counselling 2026 will be held in three rounds for admission into the BA LLB and B.Com LLB programmes of the university. The PU BA LLB 2026 participating colleges will conduct the PU BA LLB counselling 2026 process separately. Panjab University made the admission form available online through the candidate login portal for candidates who qualified for the PU BA LLB entrance exam 2026. The last date to fill out the online admission form was June 14, 2026. The deadline for submitting the hard copy of the admission form along with relevant certificates was June 17, 2026 (till 4:00 PM). Candidates who completed the admission process can now download the tentative merit list, which was published on July 1, 2026. After the submission of the form, no request for changes will be entertained by the university.

The counselling process for Panjab University UG law 2026 is given below:
After the declaration of the PU UG law result 2026, candidates who score more than the minimum marks are placed in the preliminary merit list.
Candidates whose names are placed in the preliminary merit list of PU BA LLB 2026 have to fill in the admission form.
Candidates who complete and submit the online admission form within the prescribed deadline are considered for admission.
Panjab University will release the tentative merit list on July 1, 2026, and invite objections from candidates.
Candidates can raise objections against the tentative merit list through email within the prescribed dates.
After considering the objections, the university will release the provisional merit list on July 7, 2026.
Candidates must submit the following documents (original as well as copies) during the counselling process for PU BA LLB 2026:
Marksheets of 10th and 12th qualifying degrees (Original)
Birth Certificate
Character Certificate
Gap Year Affidavit (If applicable)
Reserve Category certificates (If applicable)
Graduation certificate issued by the Sports Department of Panjab University if applying under sports reservation
Copy of candidate’s ID/address proof (Driving License/Voter Card/Aadhar Card etc.)
Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh

Panjab University does seat allotment based on the following criteria:
Marks obtained in the PU BA LLB entrance exam
Marks obtained in the qualifying exam

At the end of the counselling process, the university will fill the vacant seats (if any). Candidates who participated in the counselling process and were included in the waiting list will be considered at the time of filling the vacant seats. While filling the vacant seats, the candidates must report to the venue on the specified date. Candidates failing to report to the venue on the given date will not be offered admission.

Speaking strictly in terms of the entrance exam, if you score remains in the 50s range, then there are slim chances of you getting a seat. Judging by the cut off trends of previous years, it might be difficult for you to secure a seat for yourself in
