CLAT 2027 Expected Cut-Offs: What Previous Year Data Tells Us

The actual CLAT 2027 cutoffs will be published after each round of allotment. However, candidates can take the help of the expected cutoffs based on previous years’ data to predict their admission chances this year. The top 7 NLUs in CLAT 2027, including NLSIU Bengaluru, NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata, NLU Jodhpur, GNLU Gandhinagar, NLIU Bhopal and MNLU Mumbai, are expected to close general category admissions under 500 ranks. Talking of tier 2 NLUs like RMLNLU Lucknow, HNLU Raipur, NLUO Odisha, RGNUL Punjab NUALS Kochi, CNLU Patna, DSNLU Visakhapatnam, MNLU Nagpur, NUSRL Ranchi, GNLU Silvassa and TNNLU Tiruchirappalli, the CLAT 2027 general category admissions are expected to close under 1550 ranks.

For the remaining tier 3 NLUs - MNLU Sambhajinagar, DBRANLU Sonepat, MPDNLU Jabalpur, NLUJA Assam, HPNLU Shimla, RPNLUP Prayagraj, NLUT Tripura and IIULER Goa, the general category admissions are expected to close under 2600 ranks. Talking of the CLAT 2027 expected cutoff for the general category for women, the competition is equally tough. There is only a marginal difference between male and female closing cutoffs for all NLUs. In many NLUs like NALSAR Hyderabad, GNLU Gandhinagar, NLIU Bhopal, HNLU Raipur, etc., the female category cutoffs are tighter than those of the general category.

OBC, SC and ST Cut-Offs: How Reserved Categories Compare

The CLAT 2027 cutoff for all other categories is relatively relaxed compared to the general category. Candidates securing a rank under 1200 can get admission in India’s top law school, NLSIU Bengaluru, in the OBC category. Talking of tier 1 NLUs, candidates under rank 2000 can easily get admission in the top 6 NLUs. The tier 2 NLUs closing cutoff for the OBC category will be somewhere around the 3200 rank. The CLAT 2027 cutoff for OBC category tier 3 NLUs is expected to go down to 4800.

The SC category is even more relaxed than the OBC category in terms of the CLAT 2027 expected cutoff. Candidates ranked under 5700 in the SC category can easily get admission in the tier 1 NLUs. The cutoff drops further for tier 2 NLUs, where the SC category is expected to close around rank 12000. For tier 3 NLUs, the CLAT 2027 expected cutoff for the SC category is expected to be around rank 15000.

The ST category is the least competitive in the CLAT 2027 cutoffs. The CLAT 2027 tier 1 NLU admissions under the ST category are expected to close under 10,000 rank. Similarly, for tier 2 NLUs, the CLAT 2027 ST cutoff is expected to be under 17000 ranks. The tier 3 NLUs cutoffs for the ST category go further down to 25000 ranks.
