The AIBE 21 Certificate of Practice (CoP) 2026 is expected to be released between October 2026 and January 2027. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has not yet announced the official CoP release schedule. Based on previous AIBE cycles, the Certificate of Practice is generally issued within three to six months after the declaration of the result. As per the BCI helpdesk, the AIBE 21 result 2026 declared on July 18, 2026.
Once the results are announced, BCI forwards the list of qualified candidates to the respective State Bar Councils, which then begin the verification and CoP issuance process. Since each State Bar Council follows its own schedule, the exact release date can vary from state to state.
The Certificate of Practice is the final document issued after a candidate qualifies the All India Bar Examination. It is a mandatory professional licence that authorises advocates enrolled with State Bar Councils (SBC) to practise law before courts, tribunals and other judicial forums across India.
While enrolment with a State Bar Council allows a law graduate to register as an advocate, clearing the AIBE and obtaining the Certificate of Practice is mandatory to continue practising law in India. The CoP certifies that an advocate has fulfilled the professional requirements prescribed by the Bar Council of India.
Candidates who qualify the AIBE 21 examination will become eligible to receive the CoP issued by the BCI through their respective State Bar Councils. After the declaration of the AIBE 21 result, BCI will share the list of qualified candidates with the concerned State Bar Councils, following which the CoP issuance process will begin.

Candidates can obtain the AIBE 21 Certificate of Practice by following these steps:
Check the AIBE 21 result and ensure your status is "Qualified."
Download and keep a copy of the AIBE 21 scorecard.
Wait for the Bar Council of India to forward the list of qualified candidates to your respective State Bar Council.
Regularly visit the website or notice board of your State Bar Council for CoP-related notifications.
Check the official AIBE mobile application, if notified by BCI, to view the digital CoP status. However, candidates should note that the digital CoP is meant only for verification purposes and the physical CoP remains the valid certificate.
Complete any document verification or other formalities prescribed by your State Bar Council.
Collect the physical Certificate of Practice from the State Bar Council office or receive it through post, depending on the procedure followed by your State Bar Council.
Candidates should keep the following documents ready during the verification process:
AIBE 21 scorecard
AIBE 21 admit card
State Bar Council enrolment certificate
Valid government-issued photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence or Passport)
Passport-size photographs (if required by the State Bar Council)
The mode of CoP distribution varies across State Bar Councils. Some State Bar Councils distribute the Certificate of Practice through their offices after document verification, while others send it to the candidate's registered address. Candidates should follow only the instructions issued by their respective SBC to avoid delays in receiving the Certificate of Practice.
