MH CET Law 2025 Marks Vs Percentile Conversion: Previous Year Percentile Cut-Offs
The Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, will declare the MH CET 5-year LLB result 2025 on June 4, 2025. The result will be declared based on the MH CET 5-year LLB final answer key. There is no minimum qualifying marks in MH CET law 2025. All candidates with a valid non-zero score will be eligible to register for MH CET law counselling 2025. In this article, let’s look at how the marks in the MAH LLB 5 years CET result are converted into percentile for the preparation of the MH CET law 2025 merit list. Also, get the past cut-off trends.
The CET Cell conducted the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Law for 5-year LLB on April 28, 2025, in online mode. As per the revised MH CET law 2025 exam pattern, the total marks in the exam have been reduced to 120 from the earlier 150 marks due to a reduction in the number of questions. Each question carries one mark in the exam with no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Method to Convert Marks into Percentile in MAH LLB 5 Years CET
The CET Cell uses percentiles to rank the candidates in the MH CET law merit list. However, since the exam is conducted across different sessions, a normalisation process is used to make the candidate’s marks across sessions comparable to each other. This ensures, candidates are neither benefited nor disadvantaged. The seat allotment will be done based on the candidate's percentile rank and the college preferences submitted by the candidate.
What is a Percentile Score?
A percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates who have a score less than or equal to that of the candidate in the examination. The topper of the exam will have a percentile score of 100. In MHCET 5-year LLB result, the percentile will be calculated upto 7 decimal places.
Normalisation Process to Convert Marks into Percentile
Since the CET Cell conducts the exam in multiple session, the percentile scores will be calculated for each session separately. the highest score in a particular session will be considered as the normalised percentile score of 100 for that session. The steps are given below -
Total number of appearing candidates will be divided equally among the four shifts of the exam.
Next, the examination results for each session will be prepared in the form of raw scores and then converted into percentile scores for each session individually.
Finally, the percentile scores for all the four sessions will be merged and be called the CET percentile scores.
