In the next month, the CET Cell is expected to conduct a centralised counselling and ask all students who secured a non-zero CET percentile to participate in the admissions. This first stage of counselling requires the students to choose law schools based on their preference. This shapes the entire seat allotment process, which is based on merit cum preference.

For students, choosing from over 200 colleges in the list and giving preference can be tricky, given the risk it carries of getting a seat in a low-ranked law school. In this context, students must identify the law colleges and universities before making their own preference list.

Prominent law institutes in Maharashtra, such as Government Law College Mumbai, ILS Pune, Mumbai University and KC Law College, attract students from all over India. This results in competitive cutoffs in these law colleges, often closing at over the 95th percentile in both state and all-India categories.

Apart from the above-mentioned law colleges and universities, there are several others which are good in terms of academics and provide internship and placement support to their students. Candidates can check the list of the top 50 law colleges below in the table, along with MS category cutoffs.
