The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, is currently accepting registrations for admission to various courses, including 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated LLB. The registration window at the Common Admission Process (CAP) portal is closing on July 18. As per the latest data numbers available on the dashboard, 16,875 candidates have registered for the 5-year LLB, whereas 52,958 candidates have registered for the 3-year LLB. Once the registration window is closed, the CET Cell will conduct a scrutiny of all applications it received and prepare merit lists. The MH CET Law counselling is a multi-stage admission process, involving 189 colleges.
The counselling dashboard of MH CET Law displays multiple metrics such as registration numbers, locked applications, verified applications, intake and others. The dashboard is updated daily. The intake for the 3-year LLB is 19,780. The 5-year LLB intake is yet to be updated. Based on previous trends, the course is likely to have close to 11,000 seats in 130+ colleges. The status of counselling as of July 16 is given below.

A total of 27,372 candidates appeared for the MH CET 5-year LLB. Of these, around 17,000 have registered for counselling. In the 3-year LLB course, 74,621 appeared in the exam, of which around 53,500 have registered for counselling.
The CET Cell is conducting scrutiny of the documents and approving the applications simultaneously. The scrutiny of documents will be conducted till July 22. After this, the authorities will prepare alphabetical lists for both courses and publish them on the website. The students will be given a chance to raise complaints/objections against this list, if any.
Once the merit list is revised, the facility for web options (choosing law colleges) will open for registered and qualified students. The web options exercise in this stage will remain valid throughout the counselling process. Allotment of seats will be based on the candidate’s category rank in MH CET Law 2025 and college preferences. The counselling is conducted in three to four rounds — vacant seats are published after each round. Towards the end of the counselling, an institutional round of counselling is held, allowing the law schools to fill the vacant seats at the institute level.

Mumbai University has opened its application forms, under the Department of Law, for the two-year LLM program. The portable was made accessible for the applicants from the 3rd of August, 2024, and will be open till the 12th of August, 11:55 pm.
The applicants can fill out the form via their online portable, which is linked below for your convenience. The exam conducted by the Mumbai University for their LLM program is called the LLM CET exam, which will most probably be conducted by the end week of August 2024.
There will be around 50 multiple-choice questions from different areas of law such as constitutional law, family law, administrative law, human law, etc. The exact date of the exam will be conveyed to you either by email or via their website.
