The national law universities accept CLAT scores for admissions. Many colleges also accept Law School Admission Test — India (LSAT—India) scores for admissions.   • Common Law Admission Test (CLAT): The CLAT exam is the biggest entrance exam in India. This entrance exam is conducted for admission to top national law universities in India. RMNLU Lucknow and NLU Prayagraj accept the CLAT exam for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM courses. Apart from these colleges, Ishan Institute of Law, Greater Noida, IILM University, Greater Noida, TIIPS, Greater Noida, Bennett University, Noida, Krishna College of Law etc accept admissions based on the scores obtained by candidates in the CLAT exam.

  • Common Universities Entrance Test Law: The CUET entrance exam is conducted for admissions to both UG and PG law courses in Uttar Pradesh. Many top law colleges in Uttar Pradesh like Banaras Hindu University, BBAU Lucknow, Allahabad University, Prayagraj, CMP Degree College, Allahabad, Iswar Saran Degree College, Allahabad, IIMT University, Meerut etc. accept CUET scores for admissions in law courses.

  • Law School Admission Test India (LSAT—India): LSAT—India is a national-level entrance exam conducted by Pearson VUE for admission to various participating colleges. The exam is conducted twice yearly in the months of January and May.

  • AMU Law Entrance Exam: Aligarh Muslim University conducts its own entrance exam for admissions to law courses. Candidates can get admission to BA LLB course in the institute through an offline entrance exam conducted by the university.

UP Law Admissions 2024 - Direct Admissions

Direct admissions in law colleges in Uttar Pradesh are carried out on the basis of marks of candidates in the qualifying exam. The qualifying exam for 5-year LLB is class 12, whereas the qualifying exam for LLB course is graduation. To get admission in LLM course, candidates need to complete their LLB degree. The general UP Law admission process 2024 based on the qualifying exam has been described below:

  • Candidates will be required to apply individually at colleges and universities that offer admissions based on marks in qualifying exams.

  • In the application process, students will be required to provide information like marks obtained in the qualifying exam, personal details, communication details etc. Candidates will also be required to upload certain documents and make the application fee payment.

  • The concerned colleges and universities will then prepare a merit list of candidates based on their scores in the qualifying exam.

  • Candidates will be called for counselling and seat allotment processes based on their ranks in the merit list.

  • The admission will be confirmed after payment of the admission fee.
