Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, has announced the AP LAWCET 2026 results for 5-year LLB, 3-year LLB and LLM courses. The AP LAWCET scores will now be accepted by around 25 law colleges across Andhra Pradesh. Admissions to these law colleges are based on merit cum preference; this means that top-ranked law colleges in the state will see intense competition due to students' preferences. This would eventually shape the cut-offs during the counselling.

    Preference Order: Factors to Consider

Students must give college preference while registering for the AP LAWCET 2026 counselling, and it becomes crucial to pick the top-tier colleges first, followed by the less popular ones. Doing this maximises the chances of getting a good law college when the allotment lists are published.

Any mistake during choice filling (college preference) will end up jeopardising the admission chances in law colleges. One may also get a very high rank in the exam, but end up getting a low-profile law college if preference order is not correct.

Students should note that while making the preference order, they must consider factors such as the location of the law colleges, historical placements, availability of faculty and infrastructure and proximity to nearby cities, corporates and legal offices.

AP LAWCET 2026: Best Cities for Studying Law

Amaravati, Visakhapatnam (Vizag), Tirupati, Kurnool, Guntur, and Vijayawada are the most popular cities with access to transportation, corporate, and government offices. Having a law school located in these cities provides an added advantage to students. Having said this, colleges equipped with faculty, libraries, playgrounds, and other amenities should be preferred. Placements and internship opportunities, and previous records if available, must be taken into consideration while choosing law colleges.
