• Candidates must have successfully cleared the intermediate (class 10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognised board or university.

• General (unreserved) candidates must have attained at least 45% marks in the qualifying exam in the best of four subjects, excluding compulsory Environmental Studies of WBCHSE.

• OBC/EWS candidates must have at least 42% marks in the best four subjects, excluding compulsory Environmental Studies.

• Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD must have obtained at least 40% in the qualifying exam in the best of four subjects, excluding compulsory Environmental Studies of WBCHSE.

• Candidates passed 10+2 from the Board other than WBCHSE, ISC,CBSE, Rabindra Mukto Vidyalaya and NIOS must obtain “equivalence certificate” from the office of the Registrar, (equivalence Section) University of Calcutta, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073 by a written application in plain paper with relevant photocopy of 10+2 Mark Sheet. Certificate will be required at the time of admission.
