Unlike traditional entrance exams, LNAT does not test legal knowledge. Instead, it evaluates critical skills such as logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and reading comprehension, which are essential for success in legal education and practice. This entrance exam provides Indian students with a modern and globally recognised pathway to study law at one of India’s leading private universities.

The JGLS LNAT syllabus evaluates a candidate's reading comprehension, analytical ability, and logical reasoning. The total duration for the exam is 2 hours and 15 minutes, and there is no negative marking. Importantly, no prior legal knowledge is tested in the LNAT exam. While the original LNAT (UK) includes an essay section (Section B), JGLS considers only the MCQ scores (Section A) for admission.
LNAT 2026: Syllabus and Question Format
Section | Details | Duration | Question format |
Section A | 42 MCQs from 12 argumentative reading passages | 95 mins | Multiple-choice |
Section B | 1 essay from 3 topics (argumentative/current issues) | 40 mins | Essay (typed) |
For LNAT 2026 at Jindal Global Law School, candidates do not receive a physical admit card. Once a student registers and books their test slot on the LNAT website, they receive a confirmation email. This email includes the candidate’s name, test date, slot, and the official address of the test centre.
The confirmation email serves as proof of registration and must be printed and carried to the exam centre along with a government-issued photo ID. Both documents are required for identity verification and entry. Without them, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam. All bookings and confirmations are managed through the official LNAT portal, and no traditional admit card is provided.
Jindal Global Law School and the LNAT Consortium do not release an official answer key. The multiple-choice section is system-marked, and experts evaluate the essay section. Due to subjective assessment and secure marking protocols, candidates cannot access correct answers or solutions after the exam.
LNAT results are sent directly to participating institutions, including JGLS. Multiple-choice scores are computer-processed, while essays undergo holistic review.
Candidates do not receive individual LNAT scores immediately. JGLS considers the LNAT score along with academic records and overall profile for shortlisting. Selected candidates are informed via email and can also check updates through the JGLS application portal. No public score list or rank sheet is published; all results are confidential.
Admission through LNAT follows a multi-stage process:
LNAT scores are forwarded to JGLS admissions.
Shortlisting is done based on scores and submitted applications.
Interviews or online counselling may be scheduled depending on the profile.
Provisional offers are sent to selected candidates.
Document upload, verification, and payment of initial fees confirm the seat.
Scholarships are awarded via a merit-cum-means application.
