The Bar Council of Karnataka was established under the Advocates Act, 1961. Like any other state bar council, the main task of the Bar Council of Karnataka is to enrol advocates and supervise legal professionals. The Karnataka State Bar Council (KSBC) was constituted as per the mandatory requirement as per Advocates Act, 1961 and Bar Council of India. The members of the Bar Council are elected from among members enrolled and practicing as lawyers in Karnataka and they represent the state in Bar Council of India meetings. Interested candidates must pay the Karnataka Bar Council enrolment fees mentioned in the article below and complete the enrolment process for the Bar Council of Karnataka.
According to test takers, the examination was not that tough. While some felt that maximum questions were asked from constitutional law, many others' view was that the questions were mainly asked from criminal law. Some had to face trouble in solving the questions based on income tax, as they didn't carry the required Bare Acts. Overall, candidates found that the question paper was easy to attempt if you have prepared well.

To become an advocate in India, a law graduate has to clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). As per the AIBE eligibility criteria, a candidate must be enrolled with a state bar council before appearing for the AIBE exam. Once the candidate clears AIBE, they will be awarded a Certificate of Practice (COP). It must be noted that the AIBE exam is compulsory for candidates who obtained their law degree from 2009-10 onwards.

This means the candidate can appear for the AIBE exam not just for two years but for any number of times till he or she clears the exam. However, the date of reckoning seniority would be considered from the date of the provisional enrolment.
To enrol as an advocate, a candidate must have completed either a 3-year LLB or a 5-year LLB programme. As per the Bar Council of Karnataka eligibility criteria stated in the BCI rules 1999-2000, the authorities further state the following:
