Amity University-Noida Law Admissions 2026
Among top 100 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has officially opened the application window today for the rechecking of OMR sheets for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 20. This process is important for law graduates who suspect technical or evaluation errors in their AIBE 20 results. Following the AIBE 2025 result announcement on January 07, 2026, the BCI provides a ten-day AIBE 20 rechecking application window.
As per AIBE 20 statistics, out of 2,51,968 candidates who appeared for AIBE 20, approximately 1,74,386 candidates qualified. The rechecking process is important this year also because the final evaluation was conducted out of 95 marks, following the withdrawal of five questions due to technical discrepancies. For the 77,582 candidates who did not qualify, this serves as the final action to verify their scores before the next AIBE examination cycle begins.
Event | Important dates |
AIBE 20 result declaration | January 07, 2026 |
Commencement of AIBE rechecking applications | January 14, 2026 |
Last date to apply online (rechecking) | January 23, 2026 |
Release of AIBE XX revised results | Will be notified |
Not every candidate who fails should necessarily apply for re-checking. This process is most beneficial for those falling into the following categories:
Candidates short of qualifying marks: General/OBC candidates who scored slightly below 43 (45% of 95) or SC/ST candidates below 38 (40% of 95).
OMR shading concerns: Those who suspect their OMR sheets were not scanned correctly due to technical glitches or minor shading errors.
AIBE final answer key mismatches: Candidates whose manual score calculation using the AIBE 20 final answer key differs from their declared result.
Candidates should note that if a candidate's result is marked as "Withheld," they likely need to upload their enrolment certificate rather than apply for re-checking.
Follow these steps for an error-free submission of the OMR sheet rechecking application:
Navigate to the AIBE official website.
Log in using application ID, date of birth, and password.
Click on the "Rechecking of OMR Sheet (AIBE XX)" tab.
Enter the candidate’s roll number and select the specific reasons for the dissatisfaction with the score.
Submit the form and proceed to the integrated payment gateway.
Save the "Application Successful" PDF and the payment transaction ID.
Component | Details |
AIBE XX OMR rechecking fee | Rs 500 (five hundred rupees) |
Payment mode | Online only (UPI, debit/credit card, net banking) |
Processing nature | Per OMR sheet |
Refund policy | Non-refundable |
Refund exception | Potential refund if a genuine evaluation error is identified |
Candidates must read the following points to ensure their AIBE 2025 OMR rechecking application is valid:
No physical/offline requests: The BCI will reject any applications sent via post, courier, or hand delivery.
Email communication: Updated results will not be sent via post. Candidates will receive a notification at their registered email address.
Finality of decision: Once the rechecking result is issued, no further appeals for AIBE 20 will be entertained.
