The Ministry of Education (MoE) will release the NIRF India rankings 2024 today, August 12. The NIRF ranking 2024 will be released for multiple disciplines such as engineering, law, medical, dental, management and innovation. The law-specific NIRF ranking 2024 will have a list of top law schools in India along with details such as their score in ranking parameters, batch strength, placements, and other details.

Last year, 162 law schools participated in NIRF India rankings of which 30 colleges were listed. Overall around 5300 colleges and universities participated in the NIRF ranking.
Admissions to top NIRF law colleges are conducted through entrance exams. Some of the popular entrance exams accepted by top law colleges in India are given below.
Around 10-15 NLUs are usually liste in NIRF India rankings 2024. Except for NLU Delhi, all remaining NLUs accepted the scores for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The CLAT 2025 is conducted for 5-year LLB and LLB courses. It is accepted by 24 NLUs and 60+ CLAT affiliated colleges.
The National Law University, Delhi is ranked second in the NIRF India rankings consistently. The university does not accept CLAT. The admission to NLU Delhi is conducted through the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) exam which is held for BA LLB, BCom LLB and LLM courses. The AILET 2025 will be held on December 06.
Symbiosis Law School Pune is among the top 10 law colleges in NIRF rankings. The SLS Pune was ranked 6th in last year’s ranking. It offers BA LLB, BBA LLB and 3-year LLB courses. While BA LLB and BBA LLB admissions are conducted through the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) exam, 3-year LLB admissions are through the AIAT exam.
Other than these, NIRF's top law colleges accept CUET LLB, PU LLB, ACLAT, and various other entrance exams.
