Eligibility Criteria

VM Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar

BA LLB

• Minimum 45% marks at the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (HSSC) of Goa Board in any stream or equivalent.

• Minimum 45% marks at the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (HSSC) of Goa Board in any stream or equivalent.

• Minimum 42% marks for OBC at the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (HSSC) of the Goa Board in any stream or equivalent.

• Minimum 40% marks for SC/ST at the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (HSSC) of Goa Board in any stream or equivalent.

• Candidates must be successful in the Entrance Exam conducted by the College.

• The aggregate of marks scored by the candidate at the HSSC in all the subjects is converted into a percentage. The percentage of marks so obtained is added to the total score at the Entrance Test. This total is divided by 2. This is the effective score for ranking for admission.

LLB

• Candidates have to secure a minimum 45% at the qualifying examination at the graduation degree.

• For SC/ST candidates minimum 40% at the qualifying examination at the graduation degree.

• The candidate is required to qualify the entrance exam conducted by the college.

• The aggregate of marks scored by the candidate at the Bachelor Degree Examination in all the subjects is converted into percentage. The percentage of marks so obtained is added to the total score at the Entrance Test. This total is divided by 2. This is the effective score for ranking for admission.

• Admissions will be purely on merit.

LLM

• Candidates should have a three or five years LLB Degree from any Indian or Foreign University recognized by the UGC and Bar Council of India with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade.

• The minimum required percentage marks  for SC/ST candidates is 45%.

PhD Law

Candidates should have an LLM degree from a recognized University securing an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent.

• Candidates should have passed Class 12th from Goa Board of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination recognized by Goa University of any stream of knowledge with a minimum of 45% marks (40% Marks in case of SC/ST applicants and 42% marks in case of OBC applicants).

• If the candidate is from any Board or University other than Goa Board the Higher Secondary Education, the candidate should obtain the eligibility certificate from Goa University.

• Candidates also have to qualify the entrance exam conducted by the college.

LLB

• Candidates should have graduated in any discipline from Goa University or any other University recognized as equivalent by Goa University with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST applicants and 42% marks in case of OBC applicants).

• Candidates from other than Goa University should obtain the necessary eligibility certificate from Goa University before seeking admission.

• Candidates have to qualify the college entrance exam.

LLM

Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at the 5 years or 3 years LL.B. Programme, recognized by the Bar Council of India.

PhD Law

• Candidates should clear an Entrance Examination followed by a personal interview in the concerned Department. 

• However, candidates who have qualified in the examinations of apex bodies such as CSIR-UGC/UGC NET JRF/lectureship, SET/SLET examination of different Indian States/GATE with a valid certificate, or regular M.Phil. Degree holders admitted on the basis of Entrance Examination and interview shall be exempted from appearing for the Entrance Test.

Admission Process for Ph.D Law

A candidate desirous of seeking registration for a Ph.D., Degree at this research center he/she has to follow the rule and regulations mentioned under Ordinance OB-9A, of Goa University Ordinance governing Ph.D., degree.
