AP LAWCET 2026 results are out. Around 35 law colleges will accept the AP LAWCET scores for admission to 3-year LLB, 5-year LLB and LLM programs. Candidates who clear the minimum cutoffs are now eligible to participate in the counselling, which is expected to start soon.
Regarding admissions, colleges participating in AP LAWCET 2026 counselling will submit their details to APSCHE, which will then ask students to provide their admission preferences for these colleges.
College preferences, also known as choice filling, play a significant role in the allotment process. While marks and rank, along with reservation does play a significant role in securing allotment, the final allotment is decided by floating admission opportunities in colleges submitted in the preference list.
Therefore, it is important to identify the best colleges before making such a list. A rank-wise list of colleges would help the students in securing admission in the best law colleges.
Ideally, one should look at the college's reputation, history, academic and infrastructure before making a decision. The location of the law college also matters. Law colleges based in Amravati, Kurnool, Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Tirupati have location advantages, considering these are populated cities with many established institutions close to urban centres providing transportation, and internship facilities in nearby.
The High Court of Andhra Pradesh is in Nelapadu, Guntur, which gives an added advantage to law colleges based in the city. So, students must consider all these factors while choosing law colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
While it may not be possible to review each college one by one, students’ preferences in previous years do make the job easier.
For example, the previous trends show strong student preference for Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Dr BR Ambedkar College of Law, Visakhapatnam, Dr BR Ambedkar College of Law, Visakhapatnam, VIT-AP University, Amaravati, Sri Prasunna College of Law, Kurnool and Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur. Students can consider the previous data as a reference for choosing the best law colleges. Candidates can check the top 20 law colleges below in the table. The list
