As it was expected, the NLU Consortium challenged the single-judge verdict directing it to revise the CLAT 2025 results. However, the division bench of the Delhi High Court has refused to set aside the single-judge order. The bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Baakhru opined that prima facie they did not find any error in the single judge decision on 2 questions being demonstrably wrong.
"Prima facie, we find no error in the single-judge decision on the two questions being demonstrably wrong. The single judge considered the questions carefully, a different view would not be plausible.”
Now, if the result is revised, it will be applicable to all candidates and the merit list will be prepared again. Then CLAT counselling may take place in January.
As the marks will be revised for Questions number 14 and 100. Candidates need to understand how they will affect the CLAT 2025 rank list.
Meanwhile, Aditya Singh, the petitioner had also challenged the order claiming that there were three more blatant mistakes that the single judge failed to correct. In this regard, the Court has said, that challenging those questions will involve exemplary cost and the matter is listed for 7th January.
On 23rd December, the Madhya Pradesh High Court also issued a notice to the NLU Consortium. This case is scheduled for a hearing on 8th January for further proceeding.
Meanwhile, In its interim order, the court stated that any selections made by the consortium, based on the final answer key, would be subject to the final disposal of the petition. Which effectively means, that CLAT PG results will be subject to the outcome of this writ petition.
