However, the appearance in the CULET UG 2026 entrance test does not guarantee admission. If multiple candidates have the same CULET 2026 entrance test score, a specific hierarchy is used to break the tie:
Percentage of the "Best of four" subjects (excluding Environmental Studies) in the Class 10+2 level
Percentage of English or English Core marks in the Class 10+2 level
Percentage of overall marks in the Class 10 level
Merit-based selection in Calcutta University BA LLB admission 2026
Selection is done through a Computer-Based Methodology (CBM) e-counselling process
Seat allotment is based purely on the CULET UG 2026 results and the availability of vacant seats.

The University of Calcutta will release detailed guidelines for the Calcutta University BA LLB e-counselling process 2026, outlining how candidates will be selected and admitted to its 5-year integrated law programme through the CULET UG 2026 entrance test. Students must first submit a single online application, after which a hall ticket is automatically generated for the entrance exam. Admission is strictly based on CULET UG 2026 merit, and appearing for the test does not guarantee selection unless eligibility norms are met.
A merit list will be published on the university portal, with tie-breaking based on Class 12 and Class 10 marks. Candidates must carefully submit their college preferences during application; higher preferences remain open for future upgrades during Calcutta University BA LLB e-counselling. After the draft merit list, students can modify their preferences once.
Selected candidates must book their seats online by paying Rs. 2,000 (for CU/ government colleges) or Rs. 10,000 (for self-financed colleges) and upload all documents in PDF format. Residual admission fees are paid directly to the allotted college.
The University will also conduct mop-up rounds to fill remaining vacancies. Reserved category students must meet minimum qualifying marks of 25% (SC/ ST/ PWD) and 10% (OBC-A/ OBC-B/ EWS) of the last admitted UR candidate’s score. Additionally, 80% of seats at the Kolkata Police Law Institution (LWKPL) are reserved for Wards of Police (WOP).
The university offers 1914 seats through the CULET 2026 counselling process across 14 participating colleges. The list of participating colleges and their fee structure is given below:
