The Chhattisgarh Judicial exam pattern 2026 consists of 3 stages: prelims, mains, and viva-voce. The preliminary exam is a qualifying screening test used to shortlist candidates for the mains. Prelims marks are not added to the final merit score. The final merit is based on the mains and viva-voce marks. The prelims have 100 MCQs for 100 marks and a duration of 2 hours. The mains is a 3-hour descriptive paper carrying 100 marks. The viva-voce carries 15 marks. The Chhattisgarh Judicial Service exam 2026 is conducted by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC).

Chhattisgarh Judiciary Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
The prelims paper has 100 objective-type questions worth 100 marks. The time allotted for the candidates to complete the paper is 2 hours. Each question has four options, of which one is correct. The question paper is available in Hindi and English.
The prelims are a screening test, meaning it is only used to shortlist candidates for the mains. Prelims marks are not counted for the final merit list. CGPSC shortlists candidates for mains in the ratio of 1:10 based on the number of vacancies. Candidates whose score ties with the last shortlisted candidate are also considered in the merit list.

The main examination is a descriptive paper of 100 marks. Candidates get three hours to complete it. Civil and criminal sections together carry 80 marks. The remaining 20 marks are divided equally between English-to-Hindi and Hindi-to-English translation.
Chhattisgarh Judiciary Viva-Voce Exam Pattern 2026
Candidates who qualify the Mains are called for the Chhattisgarh Judiciary viva-voce 2026. The list of shortlisted candidates is prepared in the ratio of 1:3 based on the number of vacancies.
The interview carries 15 marks. Unreserved candidates need at least 33% marks in the viva-voce. The minimum is 25% for SC, ST and OBC candidates. A candidate who remains absent from the viva-voce is disqualified from the selection process.
