On Question asked by student community
With a score of 121 marks and an AIR of around 1000 in AILET 2026, getting admission to NLU Delhi for the BA LL.B (Hons.) program is not possible under the general admission process. NLU Delhi admits students strictly based on AILET rank, and the closing ranks are usually within the top 150–200 for the general category, and slightly higher for reserved categories.
However, you may still have a chance only if you belong to a reserved category such as SC, ST, PwD, or EWS, depending on:
Number of seats available in that category
Final cut-off ranks released during counselling rounds
For candidates outside these categories, an AIR of 1000 is considered too low for NLU Delhi, as it is the only NLU participating through AILET.
You should also note that:
AILET scores cannot be used for other NLUs
Other NLUs accept students only through CLAT
Therefore, with this rank, you should consider:
Appearing for CLAT for admission to other NLUs
Exploring top private law universities like Jindal Global Law School, NMIMS, Symbiosis Law School, etc.
A score of 121 marks in AILET 2026 is a good score, but admission to an NLU depends primarily on your All India Rank, not just marks. With an AIR of around 1000, admission to NLU Delhi is highly unlikely under the general category.
NLU Delhi has:
Very limited seats
Extremely high competition
Cut-offs that usually close at much lower ranks
Unless you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/PwD/EWS) and the category cut-off extends to your rank, admission is not feasible.
If you are aiming for an NLU, your best options are:
Attempt CLAT for admission to other NLUs
Consider state law universities or reputed private law colleges as alternatives
In conclusion, while your score shows decent preparation, AILET admission to NLU Delhi at rank 1000 is not possible in most cases, and you should plan alternative law admission pathways accordingly.
Hello,
Yes, scoring 94.75 in AILET 2026 as an ST candidate gives you very strong chances for admission to NLU Delhi, potentially even a high rank, as expected cutoffs for ST are much lower (around 60-70 marks), but your score puts you in a highly competitive bracket.
I hope it will clear your query!!
Hello aspirant ,
With an AILET rank of 16168 and a CLAT rank of 49000 , getting admission in NLUs is not possible. However, many private law colleges accept students based on CLAT or AILET rank without conducting their own entrance test . Colleges like UPES Dehradun ,AMITY law school . Jindal Global Law School and some state private universities may consider these ranks along with Class 12 marks. You should check college specific admission criteria before applying.

THANK YOU
Hello aspirant,
With 90 marks in SC Category, your chances for securing an admission to NLU Delhi through AILET 2026 are high. AILET is a 150-mark exam, therefore 90 marks are considered a topper-level.
NLU Delhi reserves a 15% of its seats for SC Candidate. Since AILET is very unpredictable and therefore if the exam is hard the cutoff can drop to 60-65 but is the paper is easy it might even reach 80, and possibly you stand above it. However 90 marks must be your net score including negative marking.
I hope the information was useful.
Thankyou.
