NLU Meghalaya Merit List 2026: The National Law University Meghalaya has discontinued its internal entrance exams (MEG UAT and MEG PAT). For the academic year 2026–27, admission to all 5-year LLB (BA LLB, BS LLB, BBA LLB) and LLM programs is based strictly on CLAT 2026 scores. Students can download the merit list of NLU Meghalaya from the official website - nlumeg.ac.in. The university will publish the NLU Meghalaya 2026 merit list based on the candidate's CLAT 2026 ranks. Under a special transitional arrangement, NLU Meghalaya will manage its own counselling and admission process directly for this year only, rather than through the centralised CLAT portal. Students listed in the NLU Meghalaya merit list 2026 will receive a confirmation letter for NLU Meghalaya admission on their registered email ID, containing detailed instructions for completing the fee payment process.

NLU Meghalaya now participates in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) framework. The university continues to offer BA LLB, BS LLB, and BBA LLB for undergraduate admissions and LLM specialisations in Corporate Law and Criminal Law. Candidates will be shortlisted for admission into NLU Meghalaya law programmes based on the following conditions:
Mandatory qualifying exam: Admission to all Undergraduate (BA LLB, BBA LLB, & BS LLB) and Postgraduate (LLM) programmes is strictly on the basis of CLAT 2026 ranks.
Transitional arrangement: For the academic year 2026-27, admissions are conducted through a University-managed admission process using CLAT scores, rather than the Consortium’s centralised counselling portal.
Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in CLAT 2026. Shortlisted candidates will receive instructions regarding document verification through SMS and their registered email ID.
Merit list: The list of selected candidates in the NLU Meghalaya 2026 merit list will be based on the CLAT 2026 rank.
The university will release the final NLU Meghalaya 2026 merit list on its website. The merit list consists of the name, application ID, and gender of the shortlisted candidates.

With AIR 10542 and OBC rank 1843, getting top NLUs is unlikely. However, you still have chances in newer or lower ranked NLUs like NLU Assam, NUSRL Ranchi, MNLU Nagpur/Mumbai, especially in later or vacancy rounds. Also consider good private law colleges as backup options.
Since you scored 8000 AIR in CLAT, getting into top NLUs may not be possible, so it is a good idea to look for affordable and good law colleges.
