    Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) prescribes the TNDALU eligibility criteria 2025 on its official website: tndalu.ac.in. Candidates planning for TNDALU admission 2025 into the law programs offered by the School of Excellence in Law (SOEL) or any other affiliated law college should first refer to the TNDALU 2025 eligibility criteria. The requirements in the eligibility criteria of TNDALU 2025 pertain to minimum educational qualification, qualifying marks, age limit, and any other relevant conditions.

    Candidates failing to meet the prescribed TNDALU 2025 eligibility criteria will not be able to secure admission. Such candidates will be disqualified from the admission process, even if found at a later stage. The university conducts law admissions without an entrance exam based on scores obtained in the qualifying exam.

    TNDALU 2025 Eligibility Criteria for SOEL

    The School of Excellence in Law offers both 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB programmes. The 5-year LLB programmes include BA LLB, B.com LLB, BBA LLB and BCA LLB. Candidates can check the course-wise LLB eligibility criteria in Tamil Nadu mentioned in the table below.

    Additional requirements

    The university also specifies that candidates with diploma/ITI qualifications instead class 12 are ineligible. Similarly, candidates who have completed 10+2 or graduation/post-graduation through the open university system without any basic qualifications are not eligible to apply.

    Law College Age Limit in Tamil Nadu

    Disqualified candidates

    Employed candidates and candidates with ITI degree are not eligible to apply for admission


    Diploma and ITI are not eligible as it is not equivalent to Higher Secondary that is 12th Standard


    TNDALU Eligibility Certificate 2025

    Candidates who have obtained their class 12 certificate from any other board except Tamil Nadu, will only be offered admission to the affiliated colleges on the production of eligibility certificate. Candidates can obtain the eligibility certificate form the Office of the Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University by submitting an application in the prescribed form with a bank challan/demand draft for a sum of Rs. 1000, while candidates from other states need to pay a sum of Rs. 2000.

    TNDALU Selection Process 2025

    Candidates will be selected for admission to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, based on the marks they obtained in the qualifying examination. There is no entrance exam. The course-wise selection process has been illustrated in the table below.

    5-year LLB

    The candidates applying for admission to the BA LLB, BCom LLB, BBA LLB, and BCA LLB[Hons.] will be ranked according to their marks in their qualifying examination, excluding languages.

    Only the marks obtained by the candidates on the first attempt will be considered.

    3-year LLB

    The TNDALU merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying degree examination, excluding languages.

    In case, where the language alone is the subject in the qualifying examination, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the said examination may be taken into account

    LLM

    Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained by them in 5-year LLB or the 3-year LLB.
