Amity University-Noida Law Admissions 2026
Among top 100 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026
Maharashtra has more than 200 government and private law institutions. This includes premier institutions like Government Law College (GLC) in Mumbai and ILS Law College in Pune. Other top choices for students include SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law and KC Law College. Admission to these institutions is strictly based on the MH CET Law 2026 merit rank. Securing a seat in these colleges depends entirely on the candidate's position in the official merit list, which is generated after the MH CET law 3-year entrance exam results are declared.
After the MH CET Law results, the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) will commence in July 2026. Candidates must register on the official portal, upload documents, and submit a prioritised list of college preferences. Seats are then allotted based on rank, category, and specific college criteria. Top colleges like GLC and ILS often require above 99 percentile. Students must use a data-driven strategy when filling out their college preferences to secure a seat in these top-tier schools.

The State CET Cell releases the MH CET Law 2026 counselling schedule after the results are declared in June. This Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is expected to begin from June 2026 and is expected to continue till September 2026. In this phase, candidates must create an official profile on the CAP portal and upload their degree marksheets. An e-scrutiny team then checks these documents to make sure all the data is accurate.
After this, publish the alphabetical merit list, tentatively in early July. This is followed by a brief grievance period, allowing students to correct any errors before the final merit list is released by mid-July.
The actual seat allotment happens in three parts: Round I, Round II, and a final Institutional Level Round. These rounds take place throughout August and September. It is vital that candidates strictly follow these reporting windows. Any delay in accepting a seat or paying the required fees will result in the automatic loss of the allotted MH CET 3-Year Law 2026 seat.
The MH CET 3-year LLB CAP admission process is entirely merit-based and follows the steps below:
Registration and uploading: Candidates log in to the portal to fill out their application and upload scanned original documents. These include graduation marksheets, domicile certificates, and category documents for e-verification.
Choice filling: Candidates must provide a preference list of colleges. They should list their preferred colleges first, followed by safe options based on the percentile.
Seat allotment rounds: The system evaluates the merit rank against the submitted preferences. If a candidate is allotted their first-choice college, the seat is auto-frozen, making admission mandatory.
Freeze vs betterment options: If candidates get a college that was not their first choice, they have two options. They can freeze the seat to confirm it, or choose betterment to try for a higher-ranked college in the next round.
Physical reporting and confirmation: Once the candidate decides to take a seat, they must visit the allotted institution in person. The college conducts a physical verification of original documents, and the candidate must pay the requisite admission fees to secure their 3-year LLB seat.
