The UP PCS J 2026 exam will be conducted for recruitment of Civil Judges (Junior Division) in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Selected candidates will get an opportunity to become judges at the junior level within the state’s judicial system. The UP civil judge recruitment 2026 will comprise three stages - Preliminary exam, Mains exam and Viva Voce.

Candidates aspiring to become civil judges in Uttar Pradesh must first check the eligibility criteria for taking the exam. Candidates must be a minimum of 22 years to take the exam. General category candidates more than 35 years of age are not eligible for the UP PCS J exam 2026. There is some relaxation in age for reserved category candidates. The UP PCS J application form 2026 will be published shortly after the release of the UP Judiciary notification. The UP civil judge application 2026 will be carried out in online mode through the official website of UPPSC. The UP Judiciary application process 2026 includes simple steps like basic registration, payment of fee and uploading of documents. The step-by-step process to fill the UP PCS J application form 2026 has been given below:
Log on to the official website - uppsc.up.nic.in and navigate to the “Recruitment” section and click on “Apply Online”.
Upon clicking on the “Apply Online” button, candidates will be directed to a new page where all active notifications will be listed and three separate buttons will be visible - “User Instructions”, “View Notification” and “Apply”.
Navigate to the UP PCS J notification and click on the “Apply” button.
Candidates must then enter all the required information in the relevant fields.
The detailed application filling process of UP PCS J will require candidates to enter their personal details, information about UP Freedom Fighter, ExArmy, service duration and physical deformity details, education, experience, address and all other details.
At the end of details section, candidates must also accept the declaration that all i formation they are entering is correct.
Also, candidates must upload a scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
The final step of the UP PCS J application process is payment of the application fee.
Candidates must pay application fee as per your category and submit the application form.

The UP Public Service Commission publishes the UP Civil Judge syllabus 2026 for all three stages. The UP Judiciary Prelims exam syllabus 2026 comprises two papers - General Knowledge and Law. The Prelims exam syllabus comprises acts like Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 etc.
Coming to the UP Judiciary Mains exam syllabus, it is divided into six papers - General Knowledge, English Language, Hindi Language, Law-I (Substantive Law), Law-II (Procedure and Evidence) and Law-III (Penal, Revenue and Local Laws). The UP Judiciary 2026 exam will be conducted in offline mode. The UP Civil Judge Preliminary examination will comprise multiple-choice questions. The UP Judiciary Mains exam is completely written and requires descriptive answers. There are total six papers in the UP Civil Judge Mains exam. The Uttar Pradesh Public Services Commission publishes the UP Civil Judge admit card 2026 around 10-15 days before the examination. The UP Civil Judge admit card will be available for download at uppsc.up.nic.in. The UP Judiciary admit cards for Prelims, Mains and Interview will be published separately. Candidates must note that the UP Judiciary hall ticket 2026 is a mandatory document to take the exam. The UP Civil Judge hall ticket 2026 will include important details such as the exam centre name and address, timings, important instructions, and more.
The UP Judiciary selection process is divided into three stages: Preliminary exam, Mains exam and Interview. Candidates aspiring to become Civil Judge in the state of Uttar Pradesh must apply for the UP PCS J exam. The first screening stage for the recruitment process is the UP PCS J Prelims exam, which is an objective test. Candidates who qualify the exam (35% for SC/ST and 40% for all other categories) will be eligible for the UP Civil Judge Mains exam. The UP PCS J Mains exam is a descriptive exam with 6 papers comprising a total of 1000 marks. Candidates will then be called for the interview process in a ratio of 1:3 based on the Mains scores.
