Below is the refund policy for the 2026 academic session at NLU Delhi:
Full refund for non-allotment: Candidates who registered and paid the counselling fee (Rs 30,000 for general, Rs 20,000 for SC/ST/OBC/EWS) but did not receive a seat offer in any merit list will be eligible for a full refund. NLU Delhi will hold the counselling fees of 10% of candidates in each category until the process closes, with refunds initiated after June 30, 2026.
Forfeiture of fees: Failure to pay the balance admission fee by April 30, 2026 (for the first three rounds) or May 20, 2026 (for the fourth round) will lead to automatic cancellation of the provisional admission and forfeiture of the counselling registration fee.
In the All India Law Entrance Test admission system, paying the provisional admission fees is the way to confirm a seat. By depositing the Rs 50,000 provisional admission fee between February 4 and February 10, 2026, candidates lock their seat for the 2026 academic year. After this initial deposit, candidates must pay the remaining balance of the university fees by April 30, 2026, to finalise their enrollment. Failure to pay the balance on time will result in the automatic cancellation of the seat, regardless of any earlier payments. These vacant spots are then offered to the next eligible candidates in the fourth merit list on May 5, 2026 or during the spot round.
