In the news: The Supreme Court stayed the investigation into the FIR against Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T. Veena and P.A. Mohamed Riyas in the CMRL-Exalogic case. In court, the stay was said to be seven days. The published order says ten days.

The Court said this is not a final view on interim relief. The Kerala High Court Division Bench can decide relief on its own. The Court also said States cannot treat judgments as statutes. It said Section 66(2) of the PMLA is only an "intimation" to the police. The Kerala High Court may hear the plea on Saturday. Vijayan will not appear before the ED on Friday.

What CLAT 2027 aspirants should know

    • Section 66(2), PMLA: The ED can share information about an offence with another agency.

    • Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988: The FIR was ordered under this Act.

    • Written order vs oral remarks: The signed order is the one that counts legally.

    • Vijay Madanlal Chaudhary (2022): The ED's powers judgment relied on by the State.
