    The law admission cycle for the academic year 2027-28 has officially begun as registrations for all three major law entrance exams - Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), and Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT). The CLAT 2027 registrations began on August 3, 2026, while the AILET 2027 application forms were made available on August 7, 2026. Applications for these three law entrance exams is usually open for a period of three months.

    CLAT is undoubtedly the biggest law entrance exam in the country, offering admission to 26 National Law Universities (NLUs), IIULER Goa and many other government and private law schools. AILET follows CLAT and offers admission to the prestigious NLU Delhi. The exam is deemed to be on the same difficulty parameters as CLAT.     One Prep Strategy, Three Exams: Is It Possible?

    Candidates who aim big in terms of a law college usually appear for all three exams for the best chances. The syllabus of all three exams overlaps when it comes to topics like legal reasoning, logical reasoning, English language, GK, current affairs, quantitative techniques, etc. However, one thing candidates need to prepare separately is for the distinct format of all three exams. Also, the difficulty and depth of the topics differ. Most serious aspirants first create a common base for all three exams - reading comprehension, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, current affairs and then give time to exam-specific preparation in the last two months of preparation through mock tests.

    Beyond CLAT, AILET and SLAT: Other Law Entrance Exams to Consider

    1. MH CET Law - Maharashtra's state-level exam for law colleges in the state

    2. TS LAWCET - Telangana's state-level exam conducted by Osmania University

    3. AP LAWCET - Andhra Pradesh's exam, conducted by APSCHE, online mode, once a year

    4. NMIMS LAT (NLAT) - for NMIMS Law colleges

    Hey there,

    If you mean CLAT eligibility for admission to 5-year LLB courses, there is no fixed CLAT score/rank that guarantees eligibility. You must first meet the basic Class 12 eligibility criteria, and admission is based on your CLAT rank, category, preferences, and counselling cut-offs.
