The CLAT PG judgement delivered by the Delhi High Court on June 6 has paved the way for the resumption of the counselling process. The Consortium of National Law Universities is expected to declare the CLAT PG revised result and notify the CLAT PG counselling schedule soon. The Delhi HC has changed the answers to two of the three questions under review in the CLAT PG judgment. Additionally, the counsel representing the Consortium of NLUs had informed the court about the withdrawal of 4 questions on its own volition. One more question was withdrawn during the hearing. The revised result will cause a significant shift in the candidate’s CLAT PG rank, impacting their NLU admission chances.
Whether candidates will be allowed to file fresh NLU preferences after the CLAT PG revised result can be understood by looking at what happened in CLAT UG. Given below are the instructions regarding NLU preferences issued by the Consortium of NLUs after the CLAT UG 2025 result was revised-
Candidates who registered for the counselling process after the earlier result and have been shortlisted again for the counsellling as per the revised result can update their NLU preferences if they want, before the registration deadline ends
Candidates who had qualified for the counselling as per the old results (and also as per the updated results) but did not complete their counselling registration can complete registration and provide NLU preferences.
Candidates who received the CLAT 2025 counselling invites as per the updated results must validate their invites through their login. Such candidates can then proceed to complete their registrations and fill in their NLU preferences.
The Consortium of NLUs is expected to allow candidates to file fresh NLU preferences after declaring the CLAT PG 2025 revised result. The revised result will significantly change the candidate’s chances of admission into various NLUs. To accommodate the change, candidates will be allowed to edit existing preferences or submit a fresh NLU preference list.
