The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the biggest entrance exam in India for admission to law colleges. Every year the CLAT exam is conducted for admission to 24 participating National Law Universities and more than 60+ private law schools. Admissions to top NLUs through CLAT 2025 depends upon the marks secured by candidates in CLAT 2025, NLU preferences entered by them, candidate category etc. To get admission to top NLUs, general category candidates must attain a rank less than 500.

Candidates will have many options of NLUs within a rank of 2500-2800. However, a general category candidate might find it hard to get admission to top NLUs in this rank range, but they will have options in many other NLUs. Reserved category candidates might also get admission in top NLUs with this rank. This year onwards, candidates will have to enter their NLU preferences at the time of counselling registration. Yes, you can take part in CLAT counselling even if you passed through a supplementary exam. But make sure you have your final passing marksheet or result before the admission process starts.
Most colleges will ask for proof that you have passed your Class 12 before giving final admission. So, if your result comes out in time, you won’t face any problem.
