The West Bengal National University of Juridicial Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata is part of the Consortium of National Law Universities and conducts its admissions through CLAT. WBNUJS Kolkata is ranked fourth in the NIRF Law rankings 2025. Being among the top law colleges in India, the CLAT 2026 score required for WBNUJS Kolkata admission is high. However, the CLAT cut-off trends show that the WBNUJS Kolkata cut-off significantly decreases for candidates from the reserved category with domicile reservation. CLAT 2026 will be conducted on December 7, 2025.
The Consortium of National Law Universities will issue the CLAT 2026 answer key and response sheet at consortiumofnlus.ac.in at 5 pm.

Through the Common Law Admission Test, candidates will be admitted into the BA LLB, BSc LLB, and LLM programmes of WBNUJS Kolkata. The university offers 100 BA LLB seats, 52 BSc LLB seats, and 100 LLM seats. The WBNJUJS Kolkata admissions will be conducted based on five rounds of CLAT counselling and institute-level admissions after the centralised counselling is completed. Read on to get all the details on the CLAT score required for WBNUJS Kolkata admission, including the cut-off rank, marks, reservation policy, and more.
The WBNUJS Kolkata cut-off will be affected by several factors. The details are given below
Overall Difficulty Level of the Exam: The difficulty level of CLAT has an inverse relationship with the cut-off. A difficult question paper will lead to lower CLAT cut-offs while an easier question paper will drive the cut-off higher.
Reservation Policy: The WBNUJS Kolkata cut-off will be lower for candidates from reserved categories than for the general category. The university offers reservations for OBC candidates from West Bengal which further expands the cut-off gap between the categories.
Seat Availability: The more the number of vacant seats after each round of counselling, the CLAT score required for WBNUJS Kolkata admissions will go further down. The CLAT seats will be filled as per the CLAT 2026 reservation criteria laid down by each NLU.
NLU Preference List: The preferences submitted by the candidates also play a role in determining the NLU cut-off. WBNUJS Kolkata is among the top colleges in the rank-wise list of NLUs, as per the NIRF law rankings. This makes it a preferred choice for candidates that further drives the cut-off higher.
Given below are the expected category-wise CLAT cut-off marks and rank required for WBNUJS admissions. The CLAT 2026 score required for WBNUJS Kolkata is the highest for the general category, gradually decreasing for other categories. Since the university admits OBC students with state reservation, a good score in CLAT 2026 for such candidates will be significantly lower than others.

Hello aspirant,
With 64.5 marks in CLAT 2026 and EWS+UP domicile, getting a top NLU may be difficult because EWS cutoffs are usually high. However, you may still have chances in the newer or mid-tier NLUs, depending on this year's overall scoring trend. NLUs like NLU Tripura, NLU Shimla or NLU Jabalpur sometimes open seats for EWS candidates at lower scores. It's best to wait for the official ranks and counselling lists, as seats shift during later rounds.

Hello aspirant,
Getting 43 in CLAT can feel disappointing, but it doesn't define your ability. You still have AILET, and many students improve sharply in their second attempt. For AILET, focus more on English, logical reasoning and GK. In static GK, study important books, monuments, national parks, constitutional facts and major awards. For current affairs, revise the last 6-8 months covering national events, government schemes, appointments, sports and major international news. Make short notes and revise daily. With a clear plan and claim mind, you can perform much better in AILET.

Hello
The best way to cover the important current affairs is to read the newspaper daily. Then try to analyse the newspaper and remember the trending topics. Practice the previous year's question paper and understand the pattern of the question. Summarise all current affairs topics and understand them in brief. If you want more information about current affairs, then you will read the article How to Prepare for CLAT Current Affairs 2026 .
Thank you.
