GLC Mumbai Among Top Law Colleges Missing From MH CET Law 2026 Approved List

GLC Mumbai Among Top Law Colleges Missing From MH CET Law 2026 Approved List

Isha GargUpdated on 05 Aug 2026, 12:56 PM IST

The State CET Cell has released the list of approved colleges for MH CET Law 2026 counselling process. One of the biggest surprises in the list is the absence of Government Law College. GLC Mumbai is the most preferred law college for in both MH CET 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB. It consistently records a 100 closing percentile in MH CET Law cut-offs. Apart from GLC Mumbai, several other well-known law colleges across Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), and other cities are also missing from the approved list as of August 5.

The list has left many candidates confused, as MH CET 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB web option entry is starting today. Candidates can select the colleges included in the approved list during CAP counselling. Candidates who had prepared their college preference list based on previous years' counselling trends will now have to revise their choices unless the CAP portal includes GLC and other top law colleges in the list.

What does this mean for MH CET Law counselling?

Candidates can fill preferences only for colleges included in the approved colleges list. Any college, including GLC Mumbai, will not appear as a selectable option on the CAP portal.

Candidates who had planned their preference order based on previous years' cut-offs, particularly those targeting GLC Mumbai, will have to consider alternative colleges such as ILS Pune as their top choice. This is also expected to increase competition for other top law colleges included in the approved list.
