MH CET 3-year LLB 2026 Normalization Process

The MH CET 3-year LLB exam 2026 was conducted in four shifts over a period of two days. This can often create variations in difficulty level and other metrics. To ensure fairness, the CET Cell follows a normalisztion process where the raw scores of candidates are turned into percentiles. The step-by-step MH CET 3-year LLB 2026 normalization process has been mentioned below:

Step 1: Multiple Shifts Conducted: The exam is held in different shifts and sessions with different question papers. This ensures smooth conduct of the exam for lakhs of candidates.

Step 2: Difficulty Level May Differ: Some shifts may have slightly tougher or easier papers. Normalization of scores prevents unfair advantage/disadvantage to candidates.

Step 3: Raw Scores Calculated: Candidates first receive their actual marks obtained in the exam. The raw scores of the candidates form the base score before normalisation.

Step 4: Percentile Scores Prepared: Scores are converted into percentile scores based on relative performance within that shift. This helps compare students across different shifts fairly.

Step 5: Topper Gets 100 Percentile: The highest scorer in every shift gets 100 percentile. Doing so creates a common benchmark across sessions.

Step 6: Candidates Ranked Relative to Shift: The MH CET 3-year LLB 2026 percentile shows how many candidates scored equal to or below a candidate. The percentile scores measure performance comparatively, not absolutely.

Step 7: CET Percentile Compiled: Percentiles from all sessions are merged to prepare the final MH CET law score. This generates the final merit ranking fairly across shifts.

MH CET 3-year LLB 2026 Normalization Formula

Percentile Score = Total number of candidates appeared in that session/Number of candidates who scored equal to or less than the candidate × 100

    Or simply:

Percentile Score = Candidates scoring equal to or below the candidate / Total candidates appeared in the session × 100
