Calcutta University (CU) will notify the CULET 2025 counselling dates on its official website - caluniv-ucsta.net/llb shortly. The CULET 2025 counselling process will be held in an online, centralised mode. After the declaration of the CULET 2025 results on October 18, 2025, the university published the draft merit list on October 20, 2025. The CULET merit list for admission will be prepared strictly based on marks obtained in the Entrance Test, arranged in descending order of merit, i.e from highest to lowest score. Based on the candidates’ rank in the merit list, the submitted preference list and seat availability, seats are allotted. The dates of publication of the methodology for counselling, selection lists and the Calcutta University BA LLB admission process will be notified soon.
Calcutta University conducted the CULET 2025 exam on October 14, 2025, in offline mode to admit students into the BA LLB programme. The admissions into the BA LLB programme of the university and its affiliated colleges will be done based on scores in the Calcutta University Law Entrance Test.

Calcutta University BA LLB 2025 counselling process will be held in multiple rounds after the declaration of results. Along with the CULET 2025 results, the university will release the draft merit lists. After the release of the draft merit list of qualified candidates, they will be able to submit any corrections until October 22, 2025, at 2 pm. Qualified candidates will also be allowed to adjust the order of preferences in the merit list for a specified time period. After that, the university will publish the schedule for methodology for counselling, selection lists and the admission process. Once the commencement of e-Counselling, the university will publish the first CULET 2025 provisional selection list. Shortlisted candidates will have to upload the documents and pay the seat booking fee and residual admission fee at the respective institute within the prescribed deadline.

The CULET 2025 merit list for admission will be prepared strictly based on the marks obtained in the Calcutta University Law Entrance Test, arranged in descending order of merit (i.e., from highest to lowest score). If two or more candidates secure identical marks in CULET 2025, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied sequentially until the tie is resolved:
First Tie-Breaking Criteria
The percentage of marks obtained in the best four subjects (excluding Environmental Studies/Environmental Science - ENVS) at the (10+2) level (or equivalent examination) will be considered. Candidates with a higher aggregate percentage in these best four subjects will be placed higher in rank.
Second Tie-Breaking Criteria
If the tie persists, the percentage of marks obtained in English or English Core at the (10+2) level will be taken into account. The candidate securing a higher percentage in English or English Core will be ranked higher.
Third Tie-Breaking Criteria
If the tie remains unresolved even after applying the above two criteria, the percentage of marks obtained at the 10th level (or equivalent examination) will be considered. The candidate with a higher percentage at the 10th level will be placed higher in the merit list.
