CLAT 2025 Counselling Instructions: Registration, Fee Refund & NLU Preferences

The Consortium of NLUs has published the revised CLAT 2025 counselling schedule on May 17, 2025 after publishing the revised result. There will be three rounds of CLAT 2025 counselling. The CLAT 2025 counselling registrations are open from May 17, 4 PM till May 21 up to 5 PM. The first CLAT 2025 merit list will be published on May 26, 2025 at 10 am. Candidates are required to take note and carefully follow all the instructions for the counselling process. In this article, know what the instructions are for filling in NLU preferences and counselling registration fee refund.

Candidates will be admitted into the 5-year LLB programmes of participating NLUs in the Common Law Admission Test - UG. There are 24 participating NLUs as well as over 60 affiliated CLAT colleges.

CLAT 2025 Revised Counselling Instructions on NLU Preferences

In CLAT 2025, candidates who were shortlisted for the counselling process were required to fill in their NLU preference list at the time of counselling registration after publication of the result. Now with the publication of the CLAT 2025 revised result, the consortium has issued the following instructions for NLU preferences -

  • Eligible candidates who had registered before and have qualified for the counselling as per the updated results as well can update their NLU preferences if they want, before the registration deadline ends

  • Candidates who had qualified for the counselling as per the old results (and qualified for the counselling as per the updated result) but did not complete their registration can also complete registration by filling in the NLU preferences.

  • Candidates who have received the CLAT 2025 counselling invites as per the updated results are required to validate their invites through their login to be able to complete registration and fill in their NLU preferences.

CLAT 2025 Revised Counselling Instructions on Counselling Fee Refund

The Consortium of NLUs has notified that candidates who had completed CLAT 2025 counselling registration as per the old results and are now ineligible for counselling as per the updated results will receive the counselling registration fee refund.

Since you scored 8000 AIR in CLAT, getting into top NLUs may not be possible, so it is a good idea to look for affordable and good law colleges.
