Amity University-Noida Law Admissions 2026
Among top 100 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026
The Government Law College, Mumbai’s exclusion from the approved list of colleges for MH CET Law 2026 Centralised Admission Process (CAP) has created uncertainty amongst candidates. GLC Mumbai has been one of the top choices for candidates for several years. It is competitive to get a seat at GLC during the CAP rounds as the college opens its admissions at a 100 percentile and closes at 99 percentile.
With GLC’s absence in round 1, the competition is now expected to shift to other top law colleges such as ILS Pune, Yashwantrao Chavan Law College, and Jitendra Chauhan College of Law. Candidates can expect the MH CET Law 2026 cut-off for round 1 to be higher for these colleges compared to previous years. If GLC Mumbai is added in the subsequent rounds, then the MH CET Law 2026 CAP scenario will change.
Candidates participating in the MH CET Law 2026 CAP round 1 are required to fill out the preference list based on only the approved law colleges. With several major top colleges, including GLC Mumbai, missing from the list, the order of preference has changed for many candidates. This shift is expected to increase the competition for Maharashtra's top law colleges. Law colleges such as Yashwantrao and Jitendra could experience increased MH CET Law round 1 cut-off and competition, which was traditionally lower in comparison to GLC Mumbai.
Based on the approved list of law colleges so far for round 1 CAP, the preference list follows:
ILS Law College, Pune
Yashwantrao Chavan Law College
Jitendra Chauhan College of Law
Dr DY Patil Law College, Pune
DES Shri Navalmal Firodia Law College, Pune
ABMS Parishad's Yashwantrao Chavan Law College
Asmita College of Law
Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh College of Law, Amravati
Manikchand Pahade Law College, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
NTVS Shri Batesing Bhaiya Raghuwanshi College of Law, Nandurbar
Dr Bapuji Salunkhe Law College, Osmanabad
Janardan Bahagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha's Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law
Late Govindrao Wanjari College of Law
The previous year's round 1 MH CET Law cut-off for Maharashtra State (MS) candidates is given below. Note that the cut-off is expected to change for these top law colleges this year.

The State CET Cell, Maharashtra, notified that more colleges are expected to be added for the upcoming CAP rounds once they are approved. The CET Cell also confirmed to Careers360 that there is no official confirmation on whether GLC Mumbai will join the MH CET Law 2026 counselling. In case GLC joins, then other law colleges might experience an increased number of vacant seats as candidates will shift their preference.
As per the MH CET Law 2026 CAP rules, candidates are not allowed to submit a preference list for round 2. However, this might change for the current academic year as more colleges are expected to be added. The list of top law colleges expected to join MH CET Law 2026 counselling is as follows:
Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai
Dr. Ambedkar College of Law
Siddharth College of Law
MVP Samaj's Law College
Oriental College of Law
Navjeevan Law College
Bharati Vidyapeeth's New Law College
Late M.L.C. Vasantraoji Kale Law College
Modern Education Society's New Law College
Mukul Wasnik College of Law
Balasaheb Thackeray Law College
Gokhale Education Society's Law College
Note that if the above-mentioned colleges are added to the list of approved law colleges, then the competition in the MH CET Law 2026 CAP round 2 and round 3 is expected to significantly increase.
