The CET Cell, Maharashtra, had released the MH CET 5-year and 3-year LLB round 1 seat allotment lists on August 18 and 19, respectively. GLC Mumbai remained the most preferred option in both the 3-year and 5-year LLB courses, with its closing percentile staying above 99 in the Maharashtra State category. In the MH CET 3-year LLB cutoff 2026, GLC closed at 99.71 percentile for the General category (MS-open). In the 5-year LLB, it recorded a 99.57 closing percentile for the Maharashtra-general category and 99.87 percentile in the OMS category. Candidates can check their allotted college through the respective CAP portals: llb5cap26.mahacet.org (for 5-year LLB) and llb3cap26.mahacet.org (for 3-year LLB).

What to Do After MH CET LLB Round 1 Seat Allotment?

Candidates allotted a seat in round 1 have two main options: freeze or betterment. The CET Cell has discontinued the earlier system of automatically freezing a seat allotted against the first preference.

    Freeze

Candidates who are satisfied with the allotted college can select freeze through the candidate login. They must:

    • Select the freeze option under the seat acceptance status.

    • Pay the Rs 1,000 seat acceptance fee.

    • Report to the allotted college within the specified dates.

    • Submit the required documents for verification.

    • Complete the remaining admission formalities.

    Betterment

Candidates who want to try for a higher preference in the next round can select betterment. The allotted seat is retained as per the CAP rules while the candidate participates in subsequent allotment rounds. Candidates opting for betterment must:

    • Select the betterment option through the candidate login.

    • Pay the Rs 1,000 seat acceptance fee.

    • Submit fresh web options next for MH CET Law 2026 CAP rounds.

    • Check the subsequent allotment result.

No Auto-Freeze for First Preference in MH CET LLB CAP 2026

This year, one of the most important changes in the MH CET LLB CAP 2026 rules is the removal of the automatic freeze option. Even if candidates get a seat in their first preference college, the seat will not get automatically frozen.

Candidates must decide whether they want to accept the seat through freeze or participate in further MH CET Law CAP rounds 2026 through the betterment option. This is important for candidates who have received their preferred college but are considering an upgrade to another college.

What If You Did Not Get a Seat in Round 1?

Candidates who could not secure a seat in the MH CET 3-year allotment or MH CET 5-year LLB allotment for round 1 can still get admission through the next CAP rounds. The allotments will be based on the candidate’s merit, category, college preferences and seats available after the previous round. Such candidates should submit a fresh college preference list when the choice-filling window for the next MH CAP round opens.

Candidates who received a seat but selected ‘betterment' must also fill fresh web options for the next round. However, candidates should carefully check the revised choice-filling schedule and ensure that their preferences are submitted before the deadline.

Documents Required After MH CET LLB Seat Allotment

Candidates accepting an allotted seat should keep the required original documents and copies ready for reporting. These may include:

    • MH CET LLB scorecard

    • CAP application and allotment details

    • Class 10 certificate

    • Class 12 certificate

    • Graduation marksheets and certificate, where applicable for 3-year LLB

    • Category certificate, if applicable

    • Domicile certificate, where applicable

    • Valid photo ID

    • Passport-size photographs

    • Other documents specified by the allotted college
