Once the registration window closes, the Consortium will release allotment lists in five rounds. After the CLAT seat allotment 2026, candidates must choose one of the following three actions:
Freeze: Select this if the candidate is satisfied with the allotted NLU. Choosing "Freeze" means the candidate accepts the seat, pays the University Confirmation Fee, and will not be considered for any other NLU in further rounds.
Float: Select this if the candidate accepts the current seat but wants to wait for a vacancy in an NLU that was higher on the preference list. If a better option opens up in the next round, the candidate will be shifted; if not, the candidate retains the current seat.
Exit: Select this if the candidate no longer wishes to participate in the CLAT 2026 counselling process. By choosing “Exit,” the candidate forfeits the current allotted seat and will not be considered for any further rounds.
