LLB colleges in Bangalore: Specialization Available
Undergraduate Level
BA LLB – Bachelor’s in Art and Bachelor of Legislative Law
This is an integrated law degree; a student can pursue for five years after finishing their 10+2 from a recognized board or university. Normally, students from the arts section plan to do this course. But students from other sections can also apply. The students need to clear the entrance exam to be eligible for the course. In this course, the students will study subjects from the arts stream like Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology along with subjects from the law stream like Criminal Law, Tax law, Administrative Law, Corporate law, and others.
BBA LLB – Bachelor in Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law
This course can be taken up by students who have cleared their 10+2 from commerce stream. Students from other streams can also pursue this degree. This is a five-year integrated degree with some subjects from Business Administration and rest from Law. Entrance exam is compulsory here too.
BCom LLB – Bachelor in Commerce and Bachelor of Legislative Law
This course is an undergraduate degree of five years, the student pursues this after the 10+2 exams from commerce or any other stream. The course teaches integrated syllabus of commerce and law both. The students must prepare for the entrance exam after the twelfth standard. This degree is a good idea for students who want to become a Corporate Lawyer after their graduation.
Postgraduate Level
LLB - Legum Baccalaureus
A three-year postgraduate program which can be pursued by a student after their graduation in any field. This course is closely supervised by the Bar Council of India. It is one of the most popular degrees in the field of law. Here too, the student must clear an entrance exam to get admission in the best colleges.
LLM – Master of Law
This is a two year post graduate degree in Law. This is a research intensive course to gain in-depth knowledge in the specialization the student selects to do. It is giving the student the knowledge skill set and finesse to practise law in the specialization of their choice. This course too has an entrance exam that the student has to clear.
M.Phil.– Master of Philosophy
To pursue Ph.D., the student needs to pursue a two-year M.Phil. degree from any stream including law. This degree is a combination of theory as well as practical subject. At the end of the course, the student needs to present their research findings. Mostly eligibility for this degree is on merit basis, but it would be advisable for the student to find out more details from the university or college they wish to pursue this degree from.
Ph.D. – Doctoral Degree
This is a three-year course to be pursued with academic focus. This course can be finished by the student in five to six years too. This course can be pursued after the master’s degree and M.Phil. degrees of the student. The student can do this course along with their work too. This course is for in-depth research in the specialization of their choice.
LLD – Doctor of Law
This is a highly specialised degree for law students, which can be pursued after a Ph.D. degree or LLM degree. The course is designed to have in-depth knowledge of the law. Some universities also prefer the students to have some teaching and academic knowledge to pursue this degree. The research conducted through this degree is of the most elite kind.
Diploma law courses
The students can pursue diploma law courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This course could be of one to three years
Certificate law courses
These are short term courses of six months or less, that can be pursued by students.

For undergraduate courses
The students must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for taking admission to the undergraduate course
The student must have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board or university with a minimum of 50% marks
The students must also clear the entrance exam to be conducted on a national level, state level or university level.
For Postgraduate Level
For LLB
The student must be a graduate from any field to pursue LLB. The graduation must be from a recognized board or university.
For LLM
The student must clear LLB or an equivalent degree from a recognised board or university.
For both these degrees, the students must also clear the entrance exam at the national, state or university level.
For diploma courses
The student must have cleared their LLB or equivalent degree for the admission in the courses

For Ph.D. and LLD
The candidate must clear the postgraduate degree courses with a minimum of 50% average marks and clear the M.Phil. degree too.
