The Madras Bar Council came into existence when the Indian Bar Councils Act, 1926 came into force in the Presidency of Madras from July 16, 1928. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is responsible for carrying out the enrolment of advocates within its jurisdiction of the state of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Law graduates who intend to practise law in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry must complete the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry registration. The enrolment is one of the necessary steps to be eligible to appear for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). Earlier, the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Bar Council enrollment was held on March 10, 2025. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry announced the candidates absent in Bar Council of Tamil Nadu enrollment list 2025 on March 10 on its official website. However, the next enrollment date for the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu 2025 will be decided soon.
According to test takers, the examination was not that tough. While some felt that maximum questions were asked from constitutional law, many others' view was that the questions were mainly asked from criminal law. Some had to face trouble in solving the questions based on income tax, as they didn't carry the required Bare Acts. Overall, candidates found that the question paper was easy to attempt if you have prepared well.
