    The Consortium of National Law Universities has published the first CLAT 2025 merit list on May 26, 2025. Candidates can download the merit list from the official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT 2025 merit list is provisional as candidates have to fulfil certain procedures to obtain final seat allotment. The CLAT 2025 merit list will be published for each round of counselling. There will be three rounds of CLAT 2025 counselling as per the revised schedule. In this article, get the steps to download the merit list and find out what’s next for candidates.

    The CLAT merit list will also provide the first round CLAT cut-off, which is the rank of the last candidate admitted into any NLU in the first round. Candidates will be admitted into the 5-year LLB and LLM programmes of participating NLUs.

    How to Download CLAT 2025 First Merit List?

    Given below are the steps to download the first merit list of CLAT 2025.

    • Visit the official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in

    • Click on the CLAT 2025 tab

    • In the notification section, click on the CLAT allotment list link

    • The CLAT 2025 merit list pdf will be displayed on the screen

    • Download the CLAT merit list 2025 PDF and save it for future reference

    What’s Next for Candidates After Publication of First CLAT 2025 Merit List?

    Candidates shortlisted in the CLAT 2025 merit list are required to choose one among freeze, float, and exit options. Let’s look at the three options in details.

    • Freeze option: Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat or those who have got the first preference NLU seat must choose the freeze option. Such candidates must pay the confirmation fee of Rs 20000 by May 30, 1 PM

    • Float option: Candidates who are not satisfied with the allotted seat or those who have not got their first NLU preference and want to upgrade to another NLU of their choice in later rounds of counselling must choose the float option. Such candidates must pay the confirmation fee of Rs 20000 by May 30, 1 PM

    • Exit option: Candidates who do not wish to continue in the counselling process and want to exit the process must choose the exit option. Such candidates do not have to pay the confirmation fee.
