    CLAT 2026 LLB cut-off trends for national law universities

    CLAT 2026 final answer keys and results have been published for both UG and PG on December 16. Unlike last year’s CLAT, this year, the provisional answer key for UG was clean with no revision required in the final answer key. Students with their CLAT ranks can now compare with previous NLU-wise cutoff trends to know the chances of their qualification.

    Meanwhile, the CLAT cut-offs for five NLUs are likely to be closed within AIR 500. These NLUs are NLSIU, NALSAR, WBNUJS, NLU Jodhpur and GNLU Gandhinagar.

    NLIU Bhopal will also see a very competitive admission for BA LLB this year. The BSc LLB admission at the university might close at an AIR 1000. This also applies to the BSc LLB of WBNUJS Kolkata, where BA LLB seats will be locked at around AIR 350.

    While this is a general admission trend in national law universities, the NLU preference order will play a crucial role during the allotments. A well-informed preference order will help the students get admission as per their merit rank. Last year, several candidates created a preference order without proper research, and they ended up getting mid or low-tier NLUs, while higher-ranked universities were open to accept them, as indicated by lower cutoffs.

    After NLIU Bhopal, MNLU Mumbai, RMNLU Lucknow, CNLU Patna, HNLU Raipur and NLU Kochi are prominent options for students. CLAT cutoffs in these NLUs are likely to close below AIR 1500 for the general category. Candidates can check the previous year's cutoff for each NLU below in the table.

    The CLAT counselling has also started on December 16. The registration will close on December 27. NLU allotments will be done in three rounds, with the final rounds to be announced in January 2026.

    SASTRA Deemed University accepts CLAT scores for admission. They admit students based on CLAT scores as well as class 12 marks, with an aggregate score of 50% in English. Based on these scores, a merit list is published by the university.

    SASTRA Deemed University accepts CLAT scores for admission. The eligibility criteria require class 12 marks, with an aggregate score of 50% in English, CLAT scores, and a maximum age limit of 19 years as of August 1, 2025.
